My Reminder Tonight

I haven't advocated since last November during Angel Tree, but as I scroll through the pages of Reece's Rainbow for the first time in quite sometime I get "that" feeling again.   The feeling of God tugging at my heart while I look into the eyes of countless innocent children's photographs.   Reminding me just how helpless and desperate each one is.   Spending their days going through the motions over and over again,  it's all the same.  Never knowing what love is, or even worse knowing you had it at one time and then losing it.

It's so incredibly easy to go through our days consumed with all of our own worries and troubles that too often we forget there are others dealing with a much greater deal of pain and suffering than we are.   From the millions injured, heartbroken and lost in Nepal to the orphans hungry for love and attention.

If you are a follower of God and He has richly blessed you with a soft bed to rest on at the end of your long day, a roof over your head with heating to keep you warm during the bitter cold nights, food in your kitchen when you are hungry, a doctor that can usually diagnose you and help heal you in a short matter of time and the comfort of knowing you can provide for your family because of your job, then you should more than willingly be so generous and bless someone with the many blessings God has given you.

I am so grateful that God reminded me of this tonight.

Blessings,

Kaitlyn

International Women's Day - Godly Women Bible Verse Challenge

Happy International Women's Day to each lovely lady reading!

I thought today would be a great day to share with you this little "challenge" I am going to start doing for myself.  And I'm hoping that by posting it out there some of you will consider accepting this small challenge and try it for yourself!

The Bible gives us a pretty good idea of the kind of woman God desires His daughters to be.
One of my greatest hopes in life is to be the godly woman that God knows I am capable of being for Him.  I want others to see His light shining through me.  I want to walk the path that leads to a better understanding and wisdom of His word.

I sorta have one major issue.  I have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to memorizing scripture, sadly.  It's really bad and it's one of those things I always wish I was excellent at, but never actually take the time to truly improve on it.

With so many changes coming upon me in life, I have decided that I need to change and improve on this!  There is no better time than the present, right? ;)

With that being said, I am challenging myself to pick from one of these verses to memorize one a week.  While memorizing the verse I will also be putting the verse into action by practicing to be more like the woman God desires me to be.

I've created a short list of verses to start with,  I think all of these verses are pretty short, but extremely important.  Why I'm choosing to memorize one a week isn't because of the length so much as it is learning and exercising the true meaning in my own life.

Some of these verses are about marriage and being a wife, for those women who aren't married, don't just skip those.  One day you may be one, it's never too early to memorize the verses that you will one day need.  :)    Like a quote I read on Pinterest said, "To be a godly wife, you must live a godly life.".

Bible Verses for Women (Challenge)

*Note, there's not a particular order in these, so memorize which ever you'd like first! :)

Genesis 2:18, 22-24 Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” … And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Proverbs 31:20-21 She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.

Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

Proverbs 31:10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.

Proverbs 31:30-31
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.

Proverbs 31:25
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

Psalms 46:5
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.

Proverbs 31:32 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Titus 2:5
To be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

Ephesians 5:15-16
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

 John 13:14-15
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one anothers feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.

Making Valentine's Day Count

If you are feeling down about Valentine's Day, this little note/post is for you.

Something that I have learned recently is that when God closes one door, it's not the end.  It doesn't mean that he isn't there anymore, or that he wasn't there during that specific time or situation.   He's always there, always listening, and that's why some doors are closed.  He knows our beginning and end.  If we are stumbling into a door he knows isn't the one for us he will protect you.  And where one door closes, there may be a long pause before you reach the one that is opened for you.

I believe that God protects us from harm in relationships as well.   If you are single this Valentine's Day, just
believe that God has a good reason for that door being closed.  He could be saving you for something much bigger and better down the road. :)

All I am simply saying is that, instead of feeling sorry for yourself tomorrow, praise the Lord for the day he has given you and for the situation you are in.   You don't have plans for tomorrow?  Take advantage of that time and bless someone.

And that goes so far beyond Valentine's Day.   Every time you wake, you've been given a chance to touch someones life in a positive way.   Whether it be praying for someone, paying for a meal, giving a smile, donating to a charity, or helping an elder load groceries into her car,  It makes a difference and through it you are shining the love God has given you

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" - Mattew 5:16 (ESV)

Don't make tomorrow "just another day".   Make tomorrow a day to share the love you've been given.

Every breath on this earth is a blessing from the Lord.   He gives you life to live.    He made you for a bigger purpose than you may realize.

For example; You wouldn't create something so beautiful and unique for no purpose.  You wouldn't just make it so it could sit somewhere and collect dust.

With God being the creator of the universe and all, I think he had a pretty good purpose for the creation he made in his own imagine. ;)

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them"  Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with blessings! :)

Note: I write posts like these in hopes that they will be a help and blessing to someone.   I don't intend on hurting any feelings or saying that I know best, just simply sharing my opinion and lessons I've learned in life. :)    Thank you for reading! :)

Advocacy Thankfulness Post

Thankful #1

.One of the things I am most thankful for this year is the direction God led me in.   I am thankful that I answered the calling He has for me right now.   I am thankful he has given me the resources to help the children that spend every day of their lives alone in an orphanage.  No, I'm not fishing for credit or compliments, just truthfully saying "Thank you" to God for giving me this desire to do the little bit I can to help someone in need.  I am so grateful that he has opened a door for me to be the voice for some of the voiceless.   I just play a small role in helping innocent children that don't have anywhere, anything or anyone to call their own.   They don't know love, they've never celebrated their birthday's and they haven't ever had a safe place to call home.  Some of the things we take for granted almost everyday.  That is why this Thanksgiving I am simply saying that I am thankful God has opened my eyes to this situation and given me the resources to do what I can to help.   It may not be very much, but it's a start and when you live a life full of nothings, everything counts.  Big or small.    So number one thankful this year would be the passion God has placed in my heart and the resources to help, even if it's just a little bit. :)

Thankful #2

I am extremely grateful for all the wonderful adopting parents!  Whether I know them or not, every one of them are incredibly special to me!  They've chosen to give second chances to lives that were abandon and given them a family.  A home, a place to sleep and people to call family!   There's almost nothing greater than this.  I am personally so thankful for every adopting parent(s).  <3

Thankful #3

Zeke.  Yes, the precious orphan I have been shouting, tweeting and posting about for the last month!  He has brought me so much joy and happiness.  I am grateful for his photos and that sweet smile that reminds me every time I'm feeling low that what I am doing matters.  He keeps the fire in advocating going and can spark flames in me when I need it.   His Angel Tree ornament hangs right where I can see it on the tree while I blog.    He has added something special to my life that I need right now.   He's given me a hope and fuel to continue advocating for orphans, adoptions, etc.

Thankful #4

My family and best friend!   Oh my goodness, I would be lost without them both.  My parents have been so supportive and encouraging in my advocating journey since day one!  Along with my sisters, best friend and mom's parents!  They all have donated their money, efforts and time to me when it comes to helping these children.  They've never failed me or discouraged me and that is something so rare and precious.   Because in the world we live in most people ignore what I do, think it's pointless and I'm sure that don't say it, but they think I'm crazy.  To have a support team around me is the biggest blessing!  I will forever be grateful for them.

So there's a few of my top things that I am incredibly grateful for this Thanksgiving!  Comment and tell me some of yours!  I'd love to know! :)

Angel Tree Tee for Zeke!

I have been swamped with orders recently, which is fantastic for the Valenzuela family adoption!  Unfortunately I haven't had very much time for sweet Zeke.   God has blessed me in Angel Tree tremendously thus far!  He currently stands at $256.50 for Angel Tree!  I'm so grateful for every bit of it.   3 days before Angel Tree started, Zeke had no one committed to being his Christmas Warrior, less than a month into AT and he is close to $300 and has a warrior who will stop at nothing short of an army for him. ;)

So I've really wanted an Angel Tree shirt since the beginning of time, lol!   And after discussing it with my best friend, she said she'd like one too.   I got permission for Miss Lucille and created the ultimate Christmas Warrior t-shirt.   In the perfect holiday color, forest green. :)  I did add the color red in the v-neck choice just in case anyone was interested in that one as well.

In the forest green you can chose the hoodie, t-shirt, or long sleeved shirt.  In the red one you can only pick the v-neck.   I personally like the forest green color more, it's something different that most people don't have a ton of that color in their closet.  Verses red, I have too many red shirts from various events.

All the shirts, but one are $22 and the hoodie is $35.  :)

I hope that every Christmas Warrior will consider purchasing at least one of these items.   It's a wonderful keepsake to remind you of this Angel Tree 2014 and that precious child you fought so hard for! :)

All the money made from this fundraiser will benefit Zeke during Angel Tree. :)

Angel Ornaments For Zeke

My fantastic grandma is at it again!  As if the beautiful owls weren't enough, she made these gorgeous petite angel ornaments!

They are handmade and one of a kind.  You won't find these in any department store.   She makes everything with such a special grace and care.  She always goes to extra lengths to make sure everything she is making is the very best it could be.
She actually told me the other night "You know what amazes me, Kaite?"  I asked her what and she said "That people are actually wanting the things I've made." I smiled and told her it was obvious why.  You can just look at the creation of hers and see the love pouring from it.  I hope that one day I can be as skilled and passionate like she it. :)   I know everyone here buys my stuff to mostly help Zeke, but I think you should know how much it means to me sweet grandma as well. :)

Onto it though!  Here are the choices I have!  I'm limited on blue, red and the soft green.   So if those are your picks hurry! :)

And here's how I've set pricing up.  When you donate any amount of $10 or more to Zeke
you will get to chose a set of four, whatever colors you'd like!

These make great little Christmas presents, or even keepsakes.

Each angel represents something special, blue stands for HOPE,  Soft green stands for PRAYER, Checkered green stands for JOY and the red stands for LOVE.

Please share with your friends!  :)

Before you donate you can email me your order @ Ksizemore16@gmail.com or if we're friends on Facebook just pm me!  I'll try to reply asap! :)
